FLOTILLA SAILING

PRE-DEPARTURE

Before departing, each Skipper will spend time familiarizing his team with the features and basic operation of his boat, including emergency procedures. Time is spent examaining charts and discussing team strategies and individual responsibilties.

DEPARTURE TIMES & PRICES

Half day flotilla sails: we like to begin our pre-departure briefings at 9 am for morning flotillas and 1:30 for afternoon flotilla sails.

Day and overnight Cruises: whatever time your group prefers.

Prices start at $100 per person for our 3 hour flotilla sails. In addition to boats and Skippers, this includes snacks and drinks. Enquire about prices for our overnight flotilla cruises.

DEPARTURE LOCATIONS

We usually depart from Oak Bay, but can pick up groups in down- town Victoria.

Oak Bay is a better departure point because this area offers a better choice of sailing conditions and because it is convenient to the Gulf Islands, and whale watching in Haro Strait.

Oak Bay Marina is located at 1327 Beach Drive, Victoria, V8S 2N4

For sheer fun on the water few things compare with the thrill of participating in a sailing regatta! These provide a “hands-on” sailing experience for those sailors who would like to learn the basics of sailing with a touch of friendly competition, while enjoying the sights and sounds of our beautiful West Coast waters.

Our programs can also be focused on the more serious sailors in your crowd who would like to test their skills in a more competitive setting with a number of sailboats we can provide in the 8 to 15 meter (25 to 45 foot) range.

TEAM BUILDING: Flotilla sailing will appeal to managers and their employees who wish to improve their relationships and skills with one another. Sailing, if nothing else, takes you away from urban distractions and requires organization, and teamwork to succeed. Sailing in the company of two or more boats invariably introduces an air of competition, rivalry and fun.

Typically, each vessel will have a sailing instructor in charge and will preferably carry no more than 4 to 6 persons each. This allows maximum opportunity for each person to sail and to participate as a "team". No boating experience is required, only a desire to participate, and to learn basic sailing skills.

Contact us to design a program suitable for your group: We have a variety of boats and destinations to choose from in assembling a flotilla or "team building" exercise. On our half day and day tours we can arrange to depart either from Victoria’s Inner Harbour or Oak Bay.
