OAK BAY DEPARTURE POINT
Our Beneteau sloop and F27 Trimaran and are based for the most part out of Oak Bay Marina. This marina is located on the east side of Victoria, about a 10 minute drive from downtown. Good bus and taxi service is available if you don't have your own transport. Free and ample parking is available at our Marina.
Our Beneteau is moored at the end of C Dock, the first dock at the bottom of the ramp leading down to the water. Our Trimaran is moored adjacent.
WHAT TO BRING
We will send you out a list of required and suggested items. Some basic items you should bring are:
- Non-skid, non-marking footwear
- water shoes, or sandals
- hat that won't blow off, sunglasses, & sunblock
- Shorts, swimsuit and warm sweater (dress in layers)
- Rain gear (we can supply if you don't have your own - but let us know)
- Camera and batteries (we can recharge batteries on board)
- Soft compact luggage (2 or even 3 smaller pieces are better than one large piece)
- sun screen
Gift Certificates: We can send you a out a personalized gift certificate for any of our sailing trips and courses. This certificate can be made out to whomever you desire and personalized as shown above. You could pick up certificates at my office or I could send them to you by E-mail or by post.
Conditions: Unless otherwise specified Gift Certificates can be used any time during the sailing season in the year purchased. They can also be transferred to others or used as a credit towards any another sail or cruise.
Booking Policy: The earlier you book, the better chance we can accommodate you. Our day and half day tours can usually be booked a few days in advance, and sometimes even on the same day. In the summer months however, don't count on it. Our overnight cruises should be booked well in advance.
Reservation Policy: A deposit of 25% is required to confirm space on our overnight tours, charters, and sail training courses, with the balance due 45 days prior to the departure date. A credit card guarantee for the entire amount will reserve space on a day or half day sail.
Private Cabin: There is a 50% surcharge if you are travelling as a "single" and prefer to have your own private cabin.
Cancellation Policy for Cruises and Sails: If you cancel your reservation within 15 to 30 days of departure you will be charged 25% of the charter/course/"tag-along" fee. If you cancel less than 15 days for an overnight charter/cruise there is no refund unless we find another client for the boat. If you cancel less than 2 days prior to departure for a day or half day sail or "tag-along" there will be no refund also unless we find someone else to replace you.
Payment: We accept cash, personal cheque, Master Card, and Visa . We also take Interac email money transfers - a very convenient method if you do internet banking (if unfamiliar with this method (it costs you $1.50 per transfer) your bank can give you information on this). Note that all Prices given are in Canadian dollars and are subject to a 5% tax.
Boat Charter Information Form (for overnight tours only) This form will be sent to you and needs to be completed and returned to us with your deposit. This form helps us to anticipate your needs, especially for planning accommoations and meals and for anticipating any possible medical emergencies.
